Our top 5 Winter boots to hit the ground running

Katie Wightman

I love a good pair of chunky boots at the best of times, whether it’s with a dress for dinner (come Summer or Winter), or out walking the dog. They seem to slip into my style with alarming ease. I’ve loved seeing Holly Willoughby’s style each night since the Jungle started, with a particularly keen eye on her feet! With the impending cold, and inevitable wet weather a Scottish Winter is likely to bring us, I have collated my top 5 boots for you to hit your stomping ground in this season. In the wake of our discussion on choosing a little more sustainably, I wanted to think about saving for a buy better quality pair of boots that really will last the years so while some might be a little pricier, we’re thinking about the long game here ladies!

Grenson Nanette Boots: While they do come in a classic black, we’ve chosen a little more unusually with this velvet suede pair. A little more of an investment but once you give them a little protective treatment, they’ll be keeping your tootsies toasty for years to come. And looking bloody good while they’re at it! Check them out HERE and you can get them at Epitome on Dundas Street too!

Sorel Explorer Black Boots: Sorel design boots for proper Canadian Winters, so they know how to keep your feet cosy! I’ve had a pair of these for the last year and my feet never seem to get cold.  With fleecy lining, a waterproof nylon outer and a rubber sole you’re set for adventure! Shop HERE

Henry Holland for Grenson: Teaming up to take the classic Nanette up a notch, these are a bit of a cult product but one thats sure to take a jeans and jumper outfit up a notch! Shop HERE

Danner Mountain Light Cascade Boots: If you like a little adventure, look no further than Danner! They’re widely regarded as the greatest hiking boot of all time. This boot is built to exactly the same specs as the original even down to the embossed Danner branding and still handmade in Portland, Oregon. These ones can also be found at EGG favourites Epitome on Dundas Street HERE.

Dr Martins Serena Fur Lined Boots: And of course I couldn’t write a boot edit without including an old classic, the Dr Martins. This time however with a little winter update and a faux shearling lining! Cosy, grippy, stylish – everything you need to help the school run go a little smoother? Head HERE to have a look.

Whether you be in a dress, jumpsuit or pair of jeans, a well fitting pair of chunky boots can really lift an outfit, give an extra bit of style and of course increase comfort! We’ve seen our own Head EGG Kylie, and EGG member Emma (Tartan Blanket company) both rocking the Grenson Nanettes so come join the gang!
